Still, Stirred and Shared looks at the active practice of archiving in contemporary formats through reflections of existing archives. The exhibition focuses on the personal and collective histories found in the United Arab Emirates and its neighboring countries in the Gulf.
Throughout the exhibition, mark making through archiving becomes a way to preserve and reimagine histories. These histories are found through a variety of sources such as: archived journals, photographs, videos and recorded oral tellings such as poetry and stories.
Furthermore, it looks at the stories of the shared histories within land through questioning how memories can shape our understanding of the present and the future we imagine.
The first round of the exhibition features Nasser Al Zayani, Safeya Al Blooshi, Shaikha Alketbi, Almaha Jarallah, and Dana Al Turki.
